Embedded Software Engineer

Engineering Grades available : Senior Embedded Engineer #1, Senior Embedded Engineer Salary : DOE (Depends on experience)

FLSA: Exempt/Non-Exempt

Job Description:

• Design and develop low level software support for platforms running Windows Embedded CE & Windows Mobile
• Serve as technical interface to both internal and external customers
• Interact with the customer’s teams
• Analyze and debug performance, software and hardware architectural problems
• Develop and execute tests plans
• Lead self or small project team and provide high-quality finished results
• Must be able to demonstrate the technical abilities identified below during the job interview

Technical Qualifications:

• Required:

• Four or more years experience writing embedded software or kernel level code including drivers or performing
• 1 Year Assembly Language
• 1 Year Windows CE Profiling and Kernel Tracking tools
• 1 Year with modern source code editors such as Source Insight, Codewrite or Slickedit
• Candidate should have strong understanding of data structures and programming fundamentals using C/C++ and at least one assembly language and Windows CE.
• Hardware adaptations specifically with Windows CE and Platform Builder.
• Must have an advanced understanding of Windows CE architecture
• Broad understanding of ARM SoC’s and common peripherals
• Above average code optimization and debugging skills
• BSCS/CE/EE or equivalent work experience
• Graphics and Imaging experience (WinCE based)
• Windows CE 5.0 experience is a must
• Windows Mobile 6 a plus
• Windows Embedded CE 6.0 a plus
• Windows Automotive and WMfA a BIG plus.
• Able to learn quickly
• Experience in developing ARM core based platforms

• Preferred:

• Significant contributor or lead engineer on designing and implementing a Windows CE BSP
• Multiple hardware platform experience a plus
• Windows Mobile and Smartphone Adaptation Kit a plus.
• Experience with MIPS platforms
• WinCE Streaming media including DirectShow
• Video and Audio Codecs

Industry experience desired from the candidate (one or more):

• Smartphones (Windows Mobile 6 Standard)
• Pocket PC Phone Edition (Windows Mobile 6 Professional)
• Pocket PC (Windows Mobile 6 Classic)
• Set-top box products
• Telematics Automotive solutions
• IP Telephony (desktop and/or mobile)
• IPTV
